What to do:
Call your physicians office where you see your doctor for instructions. You may be offered a same day appointment with a physician or a covering physician. You may also be instructed to go to our Extended Care facility. Our Extended Care facility is open Monday-Friday 9:00am-9:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-5:00pm (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas).
Please use San Bernardino Medical Group’s Extended Care instead of the emergency room for your non-emergent care. Many health insurance plans have a much higher copayment at the emergency room. It is our goal to provide quality medical care in the most timely as manner possible. As with most Extended Hour Clinics (and many Urgent Care Centers as well), it is safe to assume there may be a longer wait then you are accustomed to with your Primary Care Physician, but much shorter then in an emergency room. Waiting times are difficult to estimate since certain procedures, consultations or hospital admissions may need to be completed. Patients are served on a “first come, first served” basis. The only exceptions are medical emergencies such as chest pain and severe shortness of breath.
After-Hours Care:
After 5:00pm, the answering service will page the on-call doctor as needed. Your call will be returned by a health care professional within 30 minutes. If you are experiencing a true medical emergency, call 911 directly or go to the nearest hospital immediately. Some examples of emergencies are:
